Two kinds of reconciliation
Pick the one that fits your problem, then try it on sample data or your own files.
Finance reconciliation
Bank statements against the cash book, for finance teams that close the month by ticking lines off by hand.
- Matches on shared reference, then amount and date, then grouped totals such as one card settlement covering several days of sales.
- Flags bank charges, unidentified deposits, unpresented cheques, duplicate lines and keying errors, each with a proposed fix.
- Routes every exception by amount to the Analyst, the Finance Manager and the CFO, with a full audit trail.
Data reconciliation
Any two systems or databases that should agree but do not share a clean ID: customer lists, vendor masters, inventories, registers.
- Matches on the key columns you choose, in priority order, even when the two systems name their columns differently.
- Compares every field you pick, ignoring formatting differences and allowing a tolerance on numbers.
- Flags records missing on either side, fields that disagree and duplicate keys, and routes them for review and sign-off.
What Reconex does today
Every feature below is built and working in the current Windows version.
Match without a shared ID
Records match on keys you choose, in priority order, and the columns do not need the same name in both systems. Combine fields into a composite key when no single column is reliable.
Field-by-field comparison
See which fields agree and which differ on every matched record. Text similarity catches near-matches, and a numeric tolerance stops rounding differences from counting as mismatches.
Data quality checks first
Flag blanks, bad formats, duplicates and threshold breaches before matching. Duplicates go to their own audit list instead of being silently dropped.
Three or more sources
Fold several systems into one combined source and reconcile it against another, with no fixed limit on how many sources take part.
Your own exception categories
Define the categories your review process uses, with rules on any field, and Reconex sorts every unmatched or conflicting record into them.
Resolution and audit trail
Resolve exceptions with a recorded reason, and every decision goes into an audit log. Run history shows the trend from one reconciliation to the next.
Dashboards and reports
In-app dashboards, exports to Excel, PDF and CSV, and a report email through Outlook that you review before it is sent.
Built for big files, runs locally
Handles files with millions of rows. One Windows installer, no admin rights needed, and nothing is sent to the cloud.
Loads CSV and Excel exports today. Direct database (ODBC) and ServiceNow connections are in early access.
How it works
From two exports to a signed-off reconciliation in one sitting.
Load your exports
Drop in CSV or Excel exports from the two systems. Reconex finds the header row and reads the columns, however each system names them.
Choose how records match
Pick the key columns in priority order and the fields to compare, or accept the suggested setup. Add tolerances for numbers and dates.
Review the exceptions
Every record that is missing, duplicated or different lands in one list, sorted by severity, with a proposed fix for each.
Sign off and report
Route exceptions for approval, record every decision in the audit trail, and export the results to Excel, PDF or CSV.
